You enjoyed talking about weekends and what causes a weekend to be good.
You enjoyed Aristotle much less. What was his point, anyway?
You enjoyed Eichenberg's illustration a bit more than Aristotle. How do the animals cooperate?
Physics focuses on tangible things. Physics can be seen.
Metaphysics focuses on the abstract and the supernatural. The metaphysical cannot be seen.
Break into groups of three.
Work together to create one or two sentences that tie in all the aforementioned material. Be certain to use a quote from the Touchstone.

ReplyDeleteThe different aspects of a man are the causes of being what it is. A quote from Aristotle “…cause mean the goal something or someone is aiming at.” When men want something they give it their all to achieve it, it is our human nature. Even if it means cooperating with others as where in the picture where you see Abraham Lincoln face all the animals are working together to make a peaceful nature, just like how Lincoln was aiming towards a peaceful nation.

In the picture by Fritz Eichenberg it is portrayed that in order to create something you sometimes have to cooperate with others. In Aristotles The Physics: Book II, Chapter 7, Aristotle explains four important causes so people understand certain things. In the quote "When we see something that interests us, whether it is a natural thing or a man-made thing, we try, above all, to understand it" Aristotle is saying that no matter what comes up we try to find the meaning of something. In Eichenberg's picture we see multiple figures that are together forming in order to create a larger image which is Abraham Lincoln.
